Bloodlines & Health Testing

01

At Love on a Leash Goldens we take every effort to select some of the healthiest bloodlines in the world. Most all of our dogs have been imported from top breeders around the world (Australia, Serbia, Ukraine, Romania, etc.) as well as very respectable breeders here in the states. These dogs come from reputable breeders that have produced generations of healthy, championship and award winning goldens for many years. Further, each dog has been selected for having an outstanding and desirable temperament that includes traits of confidence and calmness. Finally, in addition each dog has their hips, elbows, heart and eyes tested before being admitted to the breeding program. All of this lays the foundation for a healthy puppy.

Environment & Upbringing

At Love on a Leash Goldens your puppies are part of our family. By purchasing a Love on a Leash pup from us you become part of our extended family. Our adult goldens have access to run around our house. We are a not a kennel but a hobby breeder, limiting the number of litters we have each year. The dogs are exercised outside several times a day and even get a little pool action at our local business (a summer day camp) in the summer months. When the pups are born they are with us 24/7 for the first several weeks when they start to develop their ability to hear, see, and walk. Once they start to move around better the pups will be placed near the center of our home to expose them to the daily happenings of everyday life. Hearing the vacuum, seeing the tv, touching different surfaces will all help them adjust and better adapt to new surrounding when they move on to their forever home.

Nutrition & Sustenance

03

At Love on a Leash all of our dogs are fed a well balanced diet of  a high quality kibble along with mix-ins of home cooked ingredients. We currently feed them Purina Pro Plan Sport 20/30. Mixed in with their kibble our dogs get a variety of proteins including beef and chicken, as well as fresh vegetables, pumpkin, cottage cheese, rice, plain yogurt and the like. To ensure our dogs are getting the utmost nutrition on a daily basis they receive vitamin supplements which include MSM, Chondroitin, Glucosamine, Ester Vitamin C, and NuVet.

Love & Socialization

At Love on a Leash, we put a large emphasis on ensuring each pup gets the love, socialization, and attention they deserve in being or becoming a well adjusted family member. Our puppies are always in our sights, especially the first few weeks after birth. Following the Puppy Culture program, our puppies get daily handling and care until they find their forever home. We love on, handle, groom, nail trim, and begin to potty train all of our puppies before they leave for their forever homes.

COMMUNICATION

05

At Love on a Leash we want to ensure that the process of purchasing a lifelong friend is as enjoyable and exciting as possible. From the time of initial contact throughout the entire lifespan of your pup we are here to support you every step of the way. We help our clients determine which breeding pairs, and puppies would make the best fit for their unique family. We are always available to talk anything golden related with our clients. We constantly communicate with our puppy parents sending updates, pictures and videos of any milestones in the litter. Once a pup has been selected and picked up we can also provide additional resources and training material to make the transition to their forever home as seamless as possible.

It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.
